I play video games!

Am I the only person annoyed by the usage of "game loop" as an objective measure of a game's worth? I understand game loops exist in programming, but reducing it to a bullet point on a book report style game review seems weirdly reductive.

Also wondering how much this mindset exists in commercial game design, and if that attitude is detrimental to good design.

Gentle reminder that Amazon still sells Steam Codes for Fall of Cybertron. It's expensive, it won't get you the DLC (those are separate codes at $10 a pop), and who knows how long the codes'll last, but it's the only option besides the console ports or 🏴‍☠️-ing it. It's strange that Activision can't restore the Steam storepages for the games at Hasbro's behest, but I guess they just can't be fucked since they're riding on Microsoft dollars at the mo.

(Rise of the Dark Spark is also still available, but I've heard that one is butt.)
